3 Steves Winery
With a tagline like theirs ("3 Friends Striving to Make the Perfect Wine") you know you can expect great things. And these guys don't disappoint. Although this winery has only been on the wine scene since 2010, their award-winning wines have proved that the Steves are worthy of the wine-making spotlight. Be sure to add your name to a cork for the bar when you finish your tasting (don't worry, you'll understand when you get there).
The tasting room at Fenestra is located inside their rustic cellar. And something about the ambiance
of the place has a truly calming effect. We're not quite sure what exactly creates this feeling. It could be the low lighting, the surrounding barrels, the gorgeous quilt that hangs on the wall ...or, it could be the wine. Choose up to 10 different wines at a time when you visit! Outdoor picnic-style seating is available, and children are often seen jumping over the little stream that runs through the property.
Big White House & John Evan Cellars
The relaxed atmosphere at Big White House makes this an ideal spot to take friends who are less familiar with the area. Be sure to buy a bottle of the peach sparkling wine and share among friends for a sweet treat. The winemaker himself can often be found giving samples straight out of a barrel or discussing wine with his guests.
Retzlaff Vineyards Estate and Winery
Featuring a variety of certified organic wines, Retzlaff was one of the first five wineries to open in Livermore. Their 14 acres are still family-owned and guests are encouraged to picnic on their lawn, surrounded by majestic 100 year old pepper trees. Don't miss the delectable port wine.
Wood Family Vineyards
Although only open for special events or by appointment, the gorgeous Wood Family grounds and tasty wine are are a must for any well-versed Livermore wine enthusiast. With a mellow vibe, stunning estate, and wine that is a true treat for your taste buds, what's not to love? Be sure to try the chardonnay.
